Phi Nguyen is a Lecturer in the Department of Arts and Entertainment Technologies at The University of Texas at Austin and adjunct faculty at Austin Community College, where he teaches game design, 3D modeling, and texturing. His teaching emphasizes production-ready habits and the workflows students will use in studios. Since 2004, he has created art across film, animation, and games, with credits including Speed Racer, Transformers, Megamind, and Mr. Peabody & Sherman. At Arkane Studios, he worked on Prey and later served as Lead Environment Artist on Redfall, mentoring artists and helping define its visual style. At the Sphere in Las Vegas, he oversaw environment art for interactive game prototypes for arena-sized audiences. He is now developing his first self-published indie game with his brother. Away from the computer, he can be found sketching, fishing, and baking sourdough with his wife Eliza and two sons, Thurgood and Ellsworth.
