Administrative Program Coordinator
Andrea Christie is an artist, educator, and higher education professional based in Austin, Texas. She serves as the Administrative Program Coordinator for the Department of Art and Entertainment Technologies at The University of Texas at Austin, where she supports student and faculty programs, leadership initiatives, and departmental operations. Andrea earned an MFA in Ceramics from Tulane University and a BFA in Ceramics from Indiana University. With more than two decades of experience in the arts and education, she has taught ceramics and 3D Design at Tulane University, Herron School of Art and Design, and The Contemporary Austin.
Andrea's ceramic works explore the relationship between art, craft, design, and everyday life. Working primarily in porcelain and stoneware, she combines drawing and surface design to create functional objects that celebrate materiality, craftsmanship, and the beauty of the handmade. Her work has been exhibited nationally, featured in publications including Uppercase Magazine's Design Encyclopedia: Vintage Life, and is held in private collections throughout the United States and internationally. Through both her creative practice and her work in higher education, Andrea is committed to creating environments where creativity, curiosity, and meaningful connections can thrive.
