The Department of Arts and Entertainment Technologies at UT Austin and Ableton are joining forces for a two-day event exploring where music technology is headed next.
Claire Marie Lim, Cloudchord, TAETRO, Tom Hall, Lawrence Grey, and Francis Preve are coming to UT Austin for a close look at where music production, live performance, and education meet.
The event unfolds in three parts: Ableton Artist Day, a free evening open to the public; Ableton Educator Day, a full day of professional development for K-12 and higher-ed music educators, with Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours available for Texas K-12 teachers; and Audio Pixel Collider, an evening performance showcase featuring select artists from earlier in the week.
It's a chance to connect with a community of artists and educators shaping the future of music production.

Ableton Artist Day

This one's for anyone in Austin who wants to be in the room: no cover, no prerequisites, just an evening built around the artists.
Doors open at 6:00 with pizza (while it lasts) and a chance to meet the visiting artists and the Ableton Education team face to face. Get hands-on with Ableton's Move at a playground set up just for the night. Starting at 7:30, four artists take the stage for short, performative presentations: part performance, part behind-the-curtain look at how they actually work. The night wraps with an open panel where all four take questions together.

Ableton Educator Day

Day two is built for K-12 and higher-ed music educators who want to bring real production tools into their classrooms, not just hear about them.
The day opens with a keynote from Lawrence Grey on project-based learning, then moves into a run of hands-on breakout sessions covering live performance technique, sound design and synthesis, video for the modern classroom, and getting started with RNBO. Lunch (pizza) and dinner (tacos), both courtesy of Ableton, are built into the day, along with a networking session before the group heads over to Audio Pixel Collider.
Texas K-12 educators can earn 5 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours for attending.

Audio Pixel Collider

Join us for Audio Pixel Collider (APC), an immersive evening of live music, vibrant visuals, and cutting-edge lighting design, all created by our talented AET students!
This one-of-a-kind experience will feature a VJ-style event where student DJs will showcase their original music along with their creative visual design and lighting work. In addition to live music paired with interactive visual sets, you can explore hands-on installations and projects that blend art, technology, and innovation.
